PADI Instructor Development Course

Teaching scuba diving allows you to share your love of the aquatic world with others while doing what you enjoy - being in, around and underwater. PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors and PADI Assistant Instructors are the most sought-after dive professionals around the world because they've completed the program that sets the standard for training dive professionals. You earn a PADI Instructor rating through hard work and commitment, but you're rewarded with a job that lets you share incredible underwater adventures with others - transforming their lives for the better and enriching yours.

Minimum age: 18 years old

At Sunfish Divers we conduct the Instructor Development Course (IDC) in four parts:

  • PADI Emergency First Responder Instructor course

  • PADI Assistant Instructor course

  • PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course

  • PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer course

During your IDC you will learn how to conduct all PADI core courses, specialties and programs. You'll be able to organise and present information, conduct skill development sessions and control open water dives. Basically, you become a better public speaker and get really good at demonstrating skills while watching out for student diver safety.

The IDC is a very intensive, demanding but at the same time very rewarding course. Chances are, you will remember it for a life time. You will be working with the other candidates in teams during workshops and assessments. There will be times where you will feel overwhelmed, tired, confused and at the same time successful, contend and happy! The only way to find out is to join one of our IDCs. PADI Assistant Instructor Course

Become a PADI Assistant Instructor by enrolling on an IDC, or do it as a stand alone course.

Minimum age: 18 years old

Assistant Instructors are qualified to:

  • Deliver all the knowledge development part of all PADI courses, specialties and programs

  • Independently teach some of PADI specialties and programs

  • Conduct all surface skills in open water training
